Position Overview

The Loan Operations Department is responsible for day‑to‑day data processing, back‑office support, and quality control of loan activities involving direct and indirect customer interaction. The department ensures all transactions are processed with efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness, while maintaining compliance with established policies, procedures, and appropriate security controls. Loan Operations works collaboratively with other bank departments to support smooth workflows and effective internal and external customer service. Within this department, the Loan Operations Processor, I, supports daily loan operations by performing a variety of accounting and operational duties. This role completes both routine and specialized tasks under general supervision and contributes to the consistent and accurate processing of loan transactions. This position may be eligible for remote work as business needs allow.

Position Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process loan payoffs from request through completion, including applying payoff funds, releasing collateral, and imaging required documentation
  • Maintain accurate documentation by scanning and indexing loan-related records into the imaging system
  • Support escrow servicing activities, including escrow analysis, disbursements, corrections, and maintenance of property and loan records within the core system (Fiserv DNA)
  • Manage loan loss draft funds by collecting insurance proceeds, releasing funds for repairs, and reviewing accounts with lenders for status updates.
  • Administer force-placed insurance by monitoring coverage, notifying customers of deficiencies, securing coverage when needed, and updating or refunding policies upon receipt of valid insurance
  • Research real estate parcels and verify tax payments for non-escrowed loans
  • Process daily participation loan payments to partner banks via wire transfers
  • Handle third-party requests, including Verifications of Mortgage (VOMs)
  • Monitor and maintain insurance and collateral tracking systems, including ticklers (Sageworks), UCC filings, lien records, and related documentation
  • Process and maintain accounts related to bankruptcy, non-accrual loans, and charge-offs, ensuring accurate system updates
  • Balance loan-related general ledger (GL) accounts and resolve daily processing errors
  • Assist with audit preparation and annual disclosure requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Associate’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of related experience required; banking experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to clearly follow instructions, understand procedures, and document information accurately
  • Professional and positive interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically, make sound decisions, and maintain quality in work
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable using core banking systems, computers, and standard software tools (e.g., word processing and spreadsheets)
  • Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented with a willingness to support others

Starting pay is determined based on several factors, which can include the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic area.
