Job Overview: The Commercial Lending Specialist is responsible for providing critical administrative support to the commercial lending areas throughout the loan process. They work closely with lenders, customers, and other internal departments on complex relationships to meet the Bank’s business development goals. The position is responsible for handling loan inquiries, by phone, in person, or by e-mail, with knowledgeable and friendly service. They work cooperatively with other bank departments in daily processes and activities relating to and generated because of direct or indirect customer contact. All transactions are processed with optimum efficiency, timeliness, accuracy, and confidentially.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Support commercial lenders of assigned portfolios with loan and credit underwriting documentation including but not limited to completing loan applications, ordering appraisals, title work, UCC & lien searches, and requesting any other necessary information
- Point of contact for the business loan customer in the absence of a commercial lender
- Supports the business banking team through portfolio management activities and customer support (payment processing, EFT set up, statements and interest detail)
- Partners with commercial lenders to ensure the needs of business customers are met, answers questions and gather needed information to assist in successful loan origination and servicing throughout the life of loan
- Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations with loan applications and ongoing servicing throughout the life of loan
- Act as a liaison between commercial lenders and internal departments to coordinate customer requests and resolve inquiries
- Work closely with title companies and insurance companies, as needed
- Collaborate with internal related departments as loan progresses and serve as a resource for any funding/post funding questions
- Understand the complexity of transactions and related risks while following procedures and practices from application to origination
- Assist lenders in preparing annual reviews and work out reports on commercial relationships
- Preparation of material change forms for commercial loans
- Ongoing monitoring of incoming financial information, indexing, and tickler maintenance
- Assist in the development and implementation of daily processes and make recommendations for process improvements, including writing and updating procedures
- Process loan payments in an efficient and timely manner, with optimum accuracy
- Support Treasury Management Services by providing operational assistance, client service, and product expertise to ensure efficient delivery and maintenance of Treasury Management solutions

Minimum Qualifications
- Two (2) years of post-secondary education, Business or Finance, preferred
- Two (2) years of similar or related experience, required
- Experience in banking environment, strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of consumer regulations including Reg B, G and Uniform Commercial Code, privacy laws and fair lending laws
Pay Range: $24-$27/hour. Starting pay is determined based on several factors, which can include the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic area. Falcon National Bank is an equal-opportunity employer.
