The Center for Disease Control houses a wealth of information on the illness, how to stay healthy as well as updates on the conditions in your local areas. Check their site and your local public health organization websites often for pertinent updates.

Disaster Funds Available

Our nation's small businesses are facing an unprecedented economic disruption. On Friday, March 27, 2020, the President signed into law the CARES Act, which contains $376 billion in relief for American workers and small businesses. Below are some of the relief options available:

  • Economic Impact Disaster Loan offers Federal Disaster Loans for Businesses, Private Non-profits. Learn more about that program, watch webinar here.
  • Paycheck Protection Program provides small businesses with funds to pay up to 8 weeks of payroll costs including benefits. Funds can also be used to pay interest on mortgages, rent, and utilities. Learn more on our Small Business Relief web page.
  • Small Business Emergency Loans through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) can assist small businesses directly and adversely affected and whose industry is named in Executive Orders 20-04 and 20-08 following the COVID-19 pandemic. MN Dept. of Revenue/ IRS Information 

  • Economic impact payments. The US Treasury Department and the IRS have announced that distribution of economic impact payments will begin in the next three weeks. Get important information here.
  • Sales tax payments grace period. Business are able to receive 30 day sales tax payments grace period (must file reports).  More details here.
  • Extend due date for federal income tax payments.The Treasury Department and IRS are extending the due date for Federal income tax payments. Learn more here.
